Local Alert Weather, Thu. AM, 2.21.19
Good Thursday Morning, Everyone…
While we may see a few scattered snow flurries hang on through the morning hours we will also start to see some partial clearing that will deliver more sunshine this afternoon. A strong Arctic flow will keep us cold, however. Highs will be in the upper 20’s to low 30’s along with some gentle NW breezes at 5-10 mph. Skies will stay partly cloudy tonight as lows drop into the teens. Breezes will be light out of the SE.
This gradual clearing will mark the beginning of a break between storm systems that will last through much of Friday. With the northerly flow of cold arctic air staying with us, we will not see our highs warming up above the mid to upper 30’s anytime in the near future. The next winter system will begin to press in Friday night. That will bring a chance of snow showers Saturday and an increased chance Sunday. That system will break up Monday and leave us with a cold day Tuesday; mostly cloudy with highs that struggle to reach 32. Highs will reach the mid 30’s Wednesday with a slight chance of snow showers under mostly cloudy skies.
