Bend median home sales price slides in February
Bend’s median home sale price dropped sharply from record territory in February, but Redmond’s market kept on reaching new heights, a report out Tuesday shows.
Redmond-based Beacon Appraisal’s analysis of home-sale data found that Bend, which soared to a record $450,000 median sale price in January, had dropped $23,000 to $427,000 in February, as the number of sales fell to just over 100.
However, the average number of days on market in Bend also fell, from 110 to 103 days, and building permits issued fell a bit, to 41, and the median sales price per square foot held steady at $225. There remains two months inventory on the books for a third straight month.
Meanwhile, Redmond’s median sales price rose $9,000 last month to a record high of $314,000, up 10 percent from a year earlier, appraiser Donnie Montagner said. Redmond’s sales slipped just a bit, to 47, but days on market dropped from 115 in January to 91 last month. Redmond actually issued more building permits than Bend, 44.
Other February median home sales prices: Sisters, $444,000; Sunriver, $517,000; La Pine, $286,000; Jefferson County-Crooked River Ranch, $176,000, and Crook County, $255,000.
