Good Friday Morning, Everyone…

A low pressure center well off in the Pacific teams up with a strong westerly flow to bring wind and rain into the Pacific NW today. Central Oregon starts the day with a chance of showers that will develop into rain. It will be accompanied by highs in the upper 40’s to low 50’s. Southerly winds at 10-15 mph will gust to 25 mph. Look for mostly cloudy skies tonight with lows around freezing and gusty southerly winds.

Despite the slow movement of that low pressure center northward into the Gulf of Alaska we will cling to the westerly and southwesterly flow. That will keep a chance of rain in our forecast through the weekend. Saturday will see its best chance of showers through the noon hour. The rest of the day will be under a variable cloud cover. The advancing from will warm Sunday’s temps into the upper 50’s, but that is also when we will see our heaviest rains. Smaller systems will quickly reinforce the current system, so our chance of rain showers and cooler temperatures will stay with us through the middle of next
