Redmond delays, detours next week at Evergreen RR crossing
Drivers can expect delays and detours at the BNSF Railroad crossing along SE Evergreen Avenue (OR 126) in Redmond Sunday through Friday (April 7-12), between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. The crossing is located just east of U.S. Highway 97. The closure is needed for railroad repairs, officials said.
Eastbound traffic will be detoured onto E Antler Avenue and McCaffrey Road (north of SE Evergreen Avenue), or Veterans Way (south of SE Evergreen Avenue).
Over-dimensional freight will be directed off of Veterans Way and onto SE Lake Road due to a sharp crest in the pavement on Veterans Way.
Westbound traffic on SE Evergreen Avenue will be able to cross the railroad tracks at the work site, but motorists should expect up to 20-minute delays, with flaggers controlling traffic.
Detour signs and message boards will be in place to direct traffic around the railroad crossing closure. Travelers are advised to plan for delays and the extra time needed for detour routes.
