La Pine firefighters come to aid of theft-hit Community Kitchen

KTVZ

The La Pine Professional Firefighters Union Local 3387 said Monday it has made a cash donation in the amount of $1,000 to the La Pine Community Kitchen, the victims of a recent theft of some $1,000 worth of food.

Since the community kitchen last Tuesday “experienced significant losses due to theft, the union chose to donate money from private funds in order to help replenish the food supplies which were stolen,” the union’s news release stated.

“The La Pine Professional Firefighters Local 3387 believes that supporting the community does not end when the work day is over and La Pine is a healthier community when all social services are able to properly help those in need,” they added.

Local 3387 is comprised of the 24 career staff members employed by La Pine Rural Fire Protection District. Last year, they responded to 2,370 calls for service in La Pine and surrounding communities.
