City of Bend to host Core Area pop-up events

The City of Bend will host a series of educational pop-up events throughout the Core Area during the month of May to share information about the Core Area Project and provide information about a community workshop scheduled for June 15.

Pop-up events are scheduled for the following dates, times and locations:

· Saturday, May 4 , from 4 – 6 p.m., at the Box Factory, 550 SW Industrial Way

· Monday, May 6 , from 4 – 6 p.m., at Grocery Outlet, 694-B SE 3rd Street

· Thursday, May 9 , from 4 – 6 p.m., at Boneyard Brew Pub, 1955 NE Division Street

· Thursday, May 16 , from 8 – 10 a.m., at Backporch Coffee, 706 NE Greenwood Avenue, #140

· Monday, May 20 , from 4 – 6 p.m., at Webskis/Webcyclery (Old Stone Church), 157 NW Franklin Avenue

· Thursday, May 23 , from 4 – 6 p.m., at Humm Kombucha, 1125 NE 2nd Street (There will also be live music at this event.)

The community workshop is scheduled for Saturday, June 15 from 10 a.m. to noon at Bend Senior High School.

Dates, times and locations are subject to change due to weather or other circumstances. Follow the City of Bend on Twitter for announcements about the pop-up events or visit the project website to confirm a pop-up event.

The Core Area Project is an effort to create a common vision and plan for the Core Area of the city. The Core Area includes four of the opportunity areas included in the 2016 Urban Growth Boundary expansion plan: the Bend Central District, East Downtown, Inner Highway 20/Greenwood and KorPine area.
