2 killed in Salem shooting; 2 arrested

(Update: Victims identified; suspects arrested in Roseburg)

SALEM, Ore. (AP) – Authorities say two men were fatally shot in Salem Monday night and two people have been arrested in southern Oregon.

The Statesman Journal reports that Marion County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a shooting report about 10:15 p.m. Monday.

The sheriff’s office says when deputies arrived, 35-year-old Bradley Kelley was found dead.

Two others found with injures were taken to a hospital. The sheriff’s office says 35-year-old Michael Buntjer died at the hospital and 26-year-old Coral Olfert suffered injuries that were not life threatening.

The Oregon State Medical Examiner’s Office says autopsies show both men died of gunshot wounds.

The sheriff’s office says Keonte Caldwell and Curtis Welch were arrested Tuesday in the Roseburg area.

The sheriff’s office says the suspects were known to the victims.

Both men are being held on murder charges. It wasn’t immediately known if they had lawyers.
