Local Alert Weather – Thurs. PM

Happy Thursday evening, everyone!

Tonight winds will stay gusty around 30 miles per hour out of the northwest. The breezy winds brought us cool air behind a cold front, and we’ll have a cool morning in store. Low temperatures will dip into the upper 20s and lower 30s through Sunriver and La Pine, so I would cover your outdoor plants. Prineville and Sisters will see lows in the mid 30s, so probably a good idea there, too. The other locations will see lows in the mid to upper 30s, which is slightly below average.

Under partly cloudy skies tomorrow morning we’ll be off to a chilly start and won’t warm much. Highs only peak in the mid to upper 50s when we should be in the low to mid 70s now. We’ll see a mixed bag of conditions with some off and on snow showers in the higher elevations. Central Oregon looks to see a chance for rain showers in the afternoon and slight chance for thunderstorms. Winds will be breezy again gusting 25 miles per hour.

By Saturday we see much more sunshine, but a cold morning. Lows will be in the 20s and 30s for all of Central Oregon (again, good idea to bring plants inside), which is well below average. Saturday sees a warm up and we’ll top out in the mid to upper 60s. Sunny skies will be overhead by the afternoon with just a few clouds in the morning.

Sunday returns to the 80s and quickly takes us above average. Through the next week highs will be in the 80s and 90s bringing us our hottest days of the year so far — get that air conditions and those fans ready!
