Local Alert Weather – Fri. PM

KTVZ

TGIF, everyone!

We’re heading into the weekend with gusty winds topping 35 miles per hour; which will calm after sunset, but will still be breezy tonight. There’s a slight chance for thunderstorms and some scattered showers tonight, but it’s a slight chance at that. Overall, we’ll see partly cloudy skies overnight with cold low temperatures. Temps dip into the 20s and 30s, so make sure you cover up your plants!

Saturday is off to a cold start with lows well below normal. Daytime highs will be about 10 degrees warmer than Friday’s in the mid to upper 60s. Partly cloudy skies turn mostly sunny by the afternoon. Winds will be much calmer gusting around 10 miles per hour.

As we head through the weekend the jet stream begins to move back up north. Central Oregon will see warmer air return and we look to see our hottest days of the year so far next week. Highs will be in the mid to upper 70s Sunday, which takes us above our average of 74 degrees.

High pressure moves onshore in the middle of the week and causes temperatures to soar. Highs will be in the upper 80s and lower 90s. Make sure you’re checking your home’s air conditioning or your fans to make sure they’re in working order before Tuesday and Wednesday!

Take care this weekend and remember to villigent when recreating outside. Make sure fires are put OUT and stay safe on and in the waters.

Have a happy weekend, C.O.!
