Local Alert Weather – Mon. PM
Happy Monday evening, everyone!
After a warm (hot?) day across Central Oregon we will have a very mild night. Mostly clear skies stick around and winds will be topping 15 miles per hour. After sunset we’ll see clear skies with a few thin clouds. Low temperatures will bottom out in the upper 40s and lower 50s, which is about 10 degrees above normal.
The heat kicks up tomorrow with highs in the upper 80s and lower 90s for the High Desert. Our average high is 75 degrees. We’ll see plenty of sun beating down, so remember your sunscreen and extra glasses of water! Winds will be calm in the afternoon and evening.
High pressure dominates the region on Tuesday, but will break down over the next few days. As it does so, it allows moisture to be pulled up from California. Wednesday sees a chance for afternoon thunderstorms as that moisture combines with the warm air. Highs will be in the upper 80s and lower 90s again. Expect a chance for storms in the afternoon and evening, which will make it feel like a summer day! It is still early June after all…
Thursday and Friday will be a bit breezier with winds gusting around 20 miles per hour. Temperatures will back off slightly and we’ll see highs in the mid 80s, which is still 10 degrees above average. Mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies will be overhead.
The weekend looks fair and warm with sunny skies and highs in the mid 80s.
