Local Alert Weather – Wed. PM
Happy Wednesday evening, everyone!
A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH is set to expire at 8 p.m. Wednesday evening. Within the thunderstorms we could see large hail, heavy rains, and gusty winds along with thunder and lightning. Remember, when thunder roars, go indoors!
A FIRE WEATHER WARNING remains in effect through midnight for the threat of lightning in the area and gusty winds. Our fuels remain dry, so fires could start easily.
Overnight expect a few isolated thunderstorms along with a few light rain showers. Skies will become partly cloudy overnight as well. Low temperatures will be chilly and around average in the upper 30s and lower 40s. Winds will be out of the northwest around 5 to 10 miles per hour.
Tomorrow we’ll see a chance for thunderstorms with highs in the low to mid 60s. Thunderstorm chances won’t be as strong as they were for Wednesday. Thursday will be our coolest day of the week.
By Friday we see a break from the active weather with a slight chance for showers. Mostly cloudy skies will be overhead. Temperatures will have warmed into the upper 60s and lower 70s. The weekend ahead looks to be dry with variable cloud cover. Highs will be closer to normal in the mid to upper 70s.
