Windows smashed at downtown Bend bank, realty office
A downtown Bend bank and real estate office had windows smashed out and were entered by a burglar late Friday night, but police said they did not find a suspect.
Around 11:30 p.m., a security official with Chase Bank at 450 Northwest Franklin Avenue called police to report seeing on bank video someone who was in the bank lobby, Sgt. Todd Fletcher said.
Numerous officers converged on the area, Fletcher said, but they soon learned the video of the broken window actually had been recorded a half-hour earlier.
Fletcher noted that important items in the bank are kept locked up, but the burglar caused some damage
Around the same time, a front glass door was broken out at Kelley Realtors at Shelton D. Kelley Realtors at 104 Northwest Franklin Avenue and an intruder stole an undisclosed amount of cash, Fletcher said.
Police are still investigating both incidents, Fletcher said.
