Mostly sunny Sunday

KTVZ

Happy Sunday, Central Oregon!

Sunday through Monday, a large, upper-level trough will give us unstable conditions east of the Cascades.

Sunday will have mostly sunny skies with highs in the upper 70s to low 80s, putting us right in the range of seasonal highs.

On Monday, the upper-level trough will deepen and bring a stronger chance for more showers and thunderstorms. Some storms could be strong with heavy rain and hail.

Despite the frequent lightning strikes, a fire weather watch is not likely.

Going into the holiday week, the upper level trough that has been overhead the last several days will slowly shift east and be located over the forecast area by Wednesday.

From Thursday through Saturday, dry conditions are expected for most, as well as a warming trend.

Temperatures Tuesday through Thursday will be in the high 70s to mid 80s.

By Friday and Saturday, temperatures in the mid-80s are expected for parts of Central Oregon.
