Warmer daytime highs on the way, SAT
A cool westerly flow will continue over the area for the next 24 hours, resulting in cooler than normal temperatures.
Some breezy, westerly winds will continue today but not as strong as yesterdays winds becoming mostly calm overnight.
Quiet and dry will be the name of the game through the weekend.
By Sunday, an upper-level ridge will begin to influence our weather with temperatures warming into the 80s.
Winds will continue to decrease across the area and remain relatively calm through the weekend.
Sunday night through next Friday…a large upper ridge over the center of the country will keep a warm southwest flow over the forecast area.
This pattern is forecast to persist through next Tuesday night.
This will usher in a period of hot temperatures.
There is very little moisture to work with and some instability, so we cannot rule out a stray shower or afternoon thunderstorms over the mountains, but confidence at this time is not high enough to include them in the extended forecast period.
Temperatures will cool off later Wednesday through Friday as a mostly dry pacific cold front moves across the region and brings more stable air with locally breezy conditions.
This will be followed by fair and cooler weather for Thursday and Friday.
Precipitation is not expected due to the lack of moisture and instability.
