Weekly cases and hospitalizations at record highs

    1. Not really ! These people would have all passed from their underlying conditions- it’s only the media focus that creates the appearance that death rates statewide are somehow accelerating. Again- only 6% of deaths are from the China virus alone- and that equals 47 people in Oregon since March !

      1. You have no idea what you’re talking about. It’s useless trying to reason with people like you. I really think you have a mental problem. All you seem to do is complain, bash our Gov and distort facts. You must be a miserable person and I feel sorry for the people around you. If you think you can do so much better than all the medical experts and our Governor, why don’t you stop complaining and do something about it?! Run for office, become a doc or nurse. Find some way to be productive and turn that whining big baby attitude around.

        1. Instead of speaking in hated tongue- go ahead and detail a single claim I have made against that Dictator in Salem… that isn’t true ! Go ahead… start with the failed leadership- her data that doesn’t add up- closing schools when children are the least at risk- shutting down businesses that will “never” re-open. Here’s an easy one… when will Kate get someone to pay my mortgage ? you spend all your time attacking people here- yet wallow around on Brown’s plantation that has you steamin’ mad- you just won’t admit it ! You know people out of work- suffering- about to go bankrupt… what do you say to them… Awww Geee- stop complaining- it’s for your own good ??? Are you an absolute imbecile- or just one with dotard tendencies ??? Cripes you enablers are disgusting !

      2. BGHW thinks that we had an unexpected 200,000+ extra deaths this year because of a sudden increase in preexisting conditions. Because he know that viruses don’t kill people.

      1. More than a million Americans die of Cardio-vascular disease and cancer… where’s yer outrage against smokers- meat eaters- those with genetic weaknesses ???

  1. All those who have publicly called this a hoax or anything to the likening should be held responsible in a court of law for anyone who dies, has died of covid19 or anything related to it! Harsh I know, but it’s a deadly virus and we have to protect ourselves! Just read a story about a young lady who had a heart attack and treatment was delayed leading to her death! Her mother was distraught! “She died because of covid not of covid!” That hit me hard! We all (globally) need to work together and understand that this is a real and serious pandemic killing us. I know we all want to blame someone or something, but that’s a waste of time! It’s non productive and old thinking. We need a strong national plan based on science so we can beat this as a nation and rejoice for Christmas! Mask up, social distance, wash up, ask your doctor if u have questions, help the vulnerable and be patient. We will beat this together!

    1. how2- Talk about talking out both sides of your face. Did you even think about what you just said during your tirade?

“All those who have publicly called this a hoax or anything to the likening should be held responsible in a court of law for anyone who dies, has died of covid19 or anything related to it! Harsh I know, but it’s a deadly virus and we have to protect ourselves! “

      Then you say this:

“I know we all want to blame someone or something, but that’s a waste of time! It’s non productive and old thinking”.

SMH. You are yelling just to yell

  2. This was supposed to go away by Easter, Memorial Day, summer, “we are turning the corner”, and it was to be a non-issue after the election. What happened to all of that talk? That’s right, it was all talk. If you are one of the minimizers of this pandemic, it might be time to come back to reality. Maybe get out of your echo chamber, be that Fox (I know it’s out of favor of the hard core deniers now), Newsmax,OAN, or whatever your preferred denial drug delivery system is. Help the economy. Help kids get back to school. No matter what your sources tell you, it’s conclusive that masks help (nobody ever said they were a guarantee), and refraining from gathering in mixed groups helps reduce the spread. Please do your part. There are other ways you can express your individuality and freedom rather than bucking the sound advice to help mitigate the spread.

    1. “This was supposed to go away by Easter, Memorial Day, summer” ??? Gee- Didn’t the President- an “at risker”- actually come down with the China Virus- and whip it’s “mild” symptoms in less than a week ??? Not sure how destroying the Oregon and US economy is an approved form of individuality and freedom- maybe in Venezuela !

        1. Wazza matter Flower child- got no more debate in ya ? ya just gonna walk off the stage- concede the facts ??? Good for you ! At least you now when yer done !

      1. And why should we believe the President actually came down with it? Do you really have any evidence to support that claim? Maybe he just had a bad cold and decided it would look good if his minions were told it was the virus and maybe he used his bleach treatment to whip whatever he had in record time. Not sure how the deaths of 250,000+ plus Americans with the death count now increasing daily can be ignored in the US but he’s doing a great job of it but maybe he thinks the US is Venezuela.

      2. I’m sure you like to look on Trump as a model of virility, but remember that he paid $750 for world-class socialized medicine, and that’s not something the rest of us have.

    2. Responsibility? Working toward the public good? Common sense? These concepts seem to be beyond the reach of those that insist on spreading the virus in the name of freedom of expression.

  3. Opinion:
Numbers more than doubled in 3 weeks – just 3 weeks. Late October into November. Hm-m-m-m-m. Might have to do with the weather.
Bars and restaurants have been open since summer, and the numbers stayed relatively stable during that whole time. Then the weather changes to cold, windy, rainy, and the usual increase in symptoms of all kinds increases. Including this virus.

It’s really disturbing to see the hospital admissions go up so alarmingly, but, as I predict we’re going to see, shutting down businesses will have little or no effect on reducing those admissions. It’s the weather.
The governor will (falsely) blame the continuing high numbers on US for not obeying her orders. But it won’t be because of us, it’s the season, always has been and always will be, that brings on an increase of symptoms of viruses that were formerly not so serious in the nice weather months. It’s what has always been called the “flu season”, referring to viruses in general proliferating.
What the governor should be, and should have been doing the last 8 months, is increasing Oregon’s hospital capacity. Did you know that we are number 50 – the lowest – in the nation for hospital beds per capita?? We have 1.6 per 1,000. The nationwide average is 2.6. We have 5,200 adult beds.
We should have about 3,000 more.
If these admissions continue to rise, we may need more than the current 5,200. Then………………………………………

    1. Looking at the data from the OHA- the EPI numbers remain low… nobody is going to the hospital for any duration of time whatsoever. Medical professionals also know how to better treat this now- the data on that is also clear when compared to early spring. now- with President Trump’s Warp Speed program producing numerous vaccines and medications- that KTVZ won’t talk about- the end is near. God forbid Biden manages to steal this election- because America will never recover economically- the schools will be a disaster- and all he’ll do is start a buncha wars like Obama ! Americans need to stop the girly hysterics over the China virus- there is a coup still underway that needs more attention !

      1. Biden stole the election by winning more votes than Trump. Trump should try to appeal to more than a minority of the country if he wants to win. That’s how elections work.

      1. COVID also thrives in dry environments, which is why it spread so rapidly in Arizona, California and New Mexico. It was thought that it would act like the normal flu virus and die off in the heat and lack of humidity.

So being forced indoors with drier air and less fresh air is creating a perfect storm. This means that restaurants, stores, grocery stores (all that recycled air), homes…etc are at a much higher probability of COVID spread.

In your own home you should keep the humidifiers on high and be sure to wash your hands whenever you come home from going someplace. Keep hand sanitizer in your car and always wear your mask.

I am hoping that the Pfizer vaccine gets through New York’s independent panel and can start to be distributed early next year. It will take many months to have it available for everyone, but it is a more promising 2021 than previously thought.

  4. Bob Bablaugh, are talking about the large daily gathering of liberals in Portland, rioter, and looters in all major cities spreading germs. You guys seem to always forget what your tribe is doing. Oh yes, let’s not forget Fancy Nancy Pelosi in the salon without a mask after they shut down businesses, keep people home, kids out of school, and no church gathering. California Gov. Gavin at an indoor dinner party without a mask and a big crowd. Then lies about it on the fake news and tells them that they were all outside. The picture is out, I am sure it’s being hidden from the media. Dianne Feinstein, not wearing a mask and refuses to make any statements about it. Ooooh, I see the news you watch does not show you that. They just want you to hate and blame Trump those are the rules and all must obey. You are not allowed to think for yourself, they tell you how to think. Lies lies lies!

    1. Oh gee, politicians lying about wearing masks. And what commendable things is your maskless “tribe” doing while deep in their agenda to try and subvert a legally held election and ignoring the deaths of over 250,000 Americans?

  5. bendmama you said it better than anyone could and still believe pelosi was one who did everything in her power to distract us as the impeachment trial had something going on same day this virus was making advancements here. Somewhere there was a timeline that was circulating the internet that showed every time the virus grew she made something happen in the trial to distract people’s attentions. Sure someone will dispute that here but i liked the theory the russian sasquatch cooked the virus in a lab under the kremlin.

      1. Didn’t you hear that they (pole watchers) found hundreds of thousand – no, millions – of fraudulent ballots on Hunter’s computer, but the Deep State managed to steal the laptop and erase the hard drive. Q can fill you in on it I’m sure, so you can forward the information to Giuliani for his next court fiasco…er…appearance.
