Thousands in Deschutes County Update or Create Deschutes Alerts Profiles

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) – The Deschutes County Sheriff's Office of Emergency Management and 9-1-1 is reporting strong community engagement following a countywide Deschutes Alerts test. The test, conducted on May 13, 2026, showcased growing resident participation in the emergency notification system.

Participation in Deschutes Alerts has continued to increase, as reflected in recent data. Residents either updated their existing emergency notification information or created new profiles.

The test on May 13, 2026, resulted in 2,010 new Deschutes Alerts profiles being created. Additionally, 2,685 existing profiles were updated through the member portal.

A total of 72,205 people received the test message. Of those, 18,482 confirmed receipt of the message.

The official website for the system is deschutesalerts.org, where residents can sign up or review their information. Community members with questions or who need help can call 541-388-6501, and Sheriff's Office staff are available to assist.
