Wisconsin Woman Arrested Accused of Friday Night Shooting

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) -- A 32-year-old man from Texas was shot in the stomach late Friday night in Bend, leading to the arrest of a woman from Wisconsin.

The incident occurred around 11:53 p.m. on May 29 in the 300 block of SW Century Drive.

The incident began with a verbal altercation between the man, who was later shot and a family member.

Following this dispute, the Texas man allegedly struck the family member with a Ford F-350. Karlina Cooper, a 35-year-old Wisconsin resident and wife of the man struck by the vehicle, then shot the man from Texas.

A 15-year-old family member was present at the scene during the shooting.

Both men were transported to St. Charles for treatment. Their injuries were classified as non-life-threatening.

Cooper, the 35-year-old Wisconsin resident who fired the gun, was arrested. She faces charges on suspicion of first-degree assault and unlawful use of a weapon.

Cooper was transported to the Deschutes County Jail.
