WARM SPRINGS, Ore. (KTVZ) -- Odysseus Japeth Tewee, a 20-year-old man from Warm Springs, Ore., was sentenced to 180 months in federal prison Monday. Tewee was sentenced after sexually exploiting a minor victim, recording it and uploading it online.

U.S. Attorney Scott E. Bradford for the District of Oregon announced the sentencing in Portland, Ore.

The sentencing includes 10 years of supervised release in addition to the prison term. Tewee pleaded guilty to sexual exploitation of a child on Jan. 5, 2026. This conviction stemmed from an investigation that began with a tip to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

The Portland Police Bureau received the initial tip on Sept. 23, 2024, regarding a video containing child sexual abuse material from Warm Springs.

Portland Police Bureau identified Tewee as the suspect following the tip. The Warm Springs Police Department and the FBI located Tewee and placed him in custody within hours of the initial report.

Pursuant to a search warrant, the Deschutes County Sheriff's Office found more than 100 images and 9 videos of child sexual abuse material on Tewee's phone. These agencies, along with federal and local law enforcement partners across Oregon, assisted in the investigation and apprehension.

A federal grand jury in Portland returned a four-count indictment against Tewee on Oct. 16, 2024. The indictment charged him with sexual exploitation of a child, possession and transportation of child pornography and sexual abusive contact. Assistant U.S. Attorney Pam Paaso prosecuted this case.

Tewee will serve 10 years of supervised release following his federal prison sentence.
