Prineville Police Department Reminds Community About Viewpoint Hours

PRINEVILLE, Ore. (KTVZ) -- The Prineville Police Department posted on their social media platforms Friday, a reminder for the community that the city's viewpoint closes at 9:00 pm.

According to the post, officers have been responding to the park frequently.

Okay, Prineville... we need your help. The Viewpoint closes every night at 9:00 p.m. Lately, our officers have been spending a little more time there after hours than we'd like. If you’re still there after the park closes, there's a good chance you'll end up having a conversation with one of our officers. While we're always happy to say hello, we'd much prefer those conversations happen during daylight hours.

The Viewpoint is one of our community's favorite places to enjoy the scenery, watch the sunset, and take in the view. After 9:00 p.m., however, it's time to head home.

Help us keep our officers focused on keeping Prineville safe instead of making late-night visits to the Viewpoint. We promise the view will still be there tomorrow. Thanks for your cooperation and for helping us keep the Viewpoint a great place for everyone to enjoy.
