Gabriel Dean Christensen sentenced to 120 months in prison following arrest in July

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) -- Gabriel Dean Christensen, a 41-year-old repeat convicted felon, was sentenced Tuesday to 120 months in prison and three years of post-prison supervision. Judge Beth M. Bagley imposed the sentence after Christensen pled guilty to charges including delivery of methamphetamine, strangulation, assault and driving under the influence of intoxicants.

The 120-month prison term represents the statutory maximum sentence under Oregon law based on the Class B felony charges. The Bend Police Department led the multiagency investigation that brought the three separate cases against Christensen.

In early July 2026, Bend police officers responded to a domestic assault call on Boyd Acres Road. During the investigation, officers deployed police narcotics detection K9 Bonnie, who alerted officers to a quantity of methamphetamine and two handguns attributed to Christensen. Two days after the initial domestic assault response, officers attempted a traffic stop on Christensen, but he ran away on foot.

On July 10, 2026, officers arrested Christensen at the Stillwater Crossing Apartments with the assistance of police K9 Buck. A Deschutes County Grand Jury indicted Christensen on July 17, 2026, on charges including assault, strangulation, elude and delivery of methamphetamine. Christensen pled guilty on Aug. 7, 2026, to delivery of methamphetamine, strangulation, elude and DUII.

Deputy District Attorneys Andrew R. Doyle, Emily Conlee and Joseph Langerman prosecuted the cases. Doyle, who is also cross-designated as a Special Assistant United States Attorney, discussed the significance of the resolution.

“These cases touch on the intersection of domestic violence, narcotics distribution and danger to the community,” Doyle said. “This sentence, a statutory maximum, should remind people that serious cases will be prosecuted accordingly. As this case was cross negotiated with potential Federal charges, it serves as another example of our office's continued successful strategic partnership with the United States Attorney's Office.”
