OSP confirms fatality in Highway 97 vehicle-pedestrian crash north of Madras

MADRAS, Ore. (KTVZ) – One person was killed in a vehicle-pedestrian crash late Thursday night on U.S. Highway 97 about 10 miles north of Madras, Oregon State Police confirmed.

The crash was reported at 11:59 p.m. at milepost 85, OSP reported. No other details were released initially, pending notification of family members.

ODOT was called to the scene for traffic control, Region 4 Public Information Officer Kacey Davey said. One lane of traffic reopened around 2 a.m. and the highway was fully reopened before 3 a.m.
