Prosecutors rest case against deputy in teen’s killing
CABOT, Ark. (AP) — Prosecutors have rested their case against an Arkansas deputy charged with manslaughter in the shooting death of a white teenager during a traffic stop. The prosecution on Wednesday called its final witnesses in the trial of Michael Davis, a former sergeant with the Lonoke County sheriff’s office. Davis is on trial over the fatal shooting of 17-year-old Hunter Brittain, who was killed during a traffic stop on June 23 near Cabot. Brittain’s death has drawn the attention of national civil rights leaders and activists. Davis faces between three and 10 years in prison if convicted.
