Correction: Opera-Supersizing Champion story

NEW YORK (AP) — In a story published April 6, 2023, about Terence Blanchard’s opera “Champion,” The Associated Press erroneously reported the last time a living composer had two different operas staged in consecutive seasons at the Metropolitan Opera. That was when Richard Strauss’ “Der Rosenkavalier” was performed in 1947-48, followed by “Salome” in 1948-49, not the 1943-44 and 1944-45 seasons as the story stated.
