Iowa man arrested in the death of a Nebraska priest
OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — An Iowa man is under arrest in the death of a Catholic priest who was stabbed in the rectory of his a small Nebraska church. The Rev. Stephen Gutgsell was assaulted “during an invasion” of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Fort Calhoun. He died from his injuries. Officials say police received a 911 call reporting an attempted break-in at the church. They found Gutgsell injured and the alleged attacker inside. Authorities arrested 43-year-old Kierre L. Williams on charges of homicide and using a weapon to commit a felony. It’s not known if he has a lawyer.
