No. 13 Oregon is heavily favored at home against Hawaii

WHAT’S AT STAKE?

It’s the final non-conference tune-up for the No. 13 Ducks before the start of the Pac-12 season. Next week the Ducks host No. 18 Colorado and new Buffs coach Deion Sanders. Oregon has a 31-game winning streak at home against nonconference opponents, the longest active streak in the nation. The Ducks haven’t lost to a nonconference opponent at Autzen since 2008. Oregon is coming off a 38-30 come-from-behind victory over Texas Tech last weekend. Hawaii defeated Albany 31-20 last weekend for the team’s first win of the season after losses to Vanderbilt and Stanford.

KEY MATCHUP

Hawaii coach Timmy Chang, who set passing records during his time as a four-year starter with the Warriors, has established a pass-happy team that’s averaging 324 yards in the air per game. But Oregon is holding opponents to a 53.3 completion percentage, second in the Pac-12, and is allowing opponents an average of 167 passing yards. The Ducks had three interceptions last weekend against Texas Tech.

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Hawaii: In three games to open the season, quarterback Brayden Schager has thrown for 972 passing yards to lead the nation. He’s second on the nation’s touchdown list with 10. Against Albany, he threw for 266 yards and a career-high four TDs. He’s riding a 12-game streak with at least one scoring pass.

Oregon: Quarterback Bo Nix has thrown for 646 yards and five touchdowns this season. In his fifth season of eligibility, Nix is one of just four active quarterbacks with over 100 career touchdowns. He leads all current players nationally with 32 career rushing scores.
