Scouts honor veterans by placing American flags on graves at Bend cemetery

Boy Scouts came to place American flags and pay their respects Saturday morning at the Deschutes Memorial Gardens. The Scouts were marking Memorial Day by placing flags on the graves of veterans, honoring those who were lost. It started with a gathering, a prayer and presentation by Bill Eddie, a local Vietnam War veteran who told the Scouts why honoring veterans is so important.
