 ‘All mixed up’: Reports of rare Sierra Nevada red foxes in C. Oregon are usually Rocky Mountain red foxes

BEND,Ore. (KTVZ) -- Red foxes come in a variety of colors, including gray and black. The name comes from before scientists realized the species had more than one color.

 ODFW Regional Biologist Jamie Bowles tells us if they are in or around cities, they are probably Rocky Mountain red foxes -- not the rare Sierra Nevada.
