BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) -- The Franklin Avenue undercrossing from Harriman Street to First Street is closing to vehicles starting today, Sept. 14. The temporary closure will remain in place through the end of May.

The closure will allow construction crews to proceed with infrastructure work at the location. The project includes stormwater improvements, transportation improvements and new retaining walls at the undercrossing.

KTVZ's Spencer Sacks is speaking with City Officials and business who are impacted and will have a full report tonight for KTVZ News at 6

Vehicular traffic will have temporary access restored during the winter holidays. The undercrossing will temporarily reopen from Thanksgiving Day through New Year's Day before closing again for the remainder of the project.

Work on the undercrossing is scheduled to conclude at the end of May.
