Bend man arrested on charges of possessing child pornography

Editor's note: These charges were later dismissed and the filing expunged from court records

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) -- An investigation that began in early January led to the arrest Monday of a 51-year-old Bend man, accused of possessing numerous images of child pornography, police said.

Police received a report on Jan. 2 from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force in regards to a tip related to child pornography, Investigations Lt. Adam Juhnke said.

The tip specifically identified one such image accessed by an individual in Bend, Juhnke said.

Over the next several months, Bend police detectives used various investigative techniques to identify Bradly Vernon Well as the person suspected of accessing the pornographic image, he said.

On April 21, detectives executed a search warrant at Well's home and on his person at his workplace. At the home, several digital devices were seized for further analysis, Juhnke said.

Forensic detectives later conducted further examination of the devices from Well's home and found nuermous images depicting child pornography on the digital devices he accessed.

Well was taken into custody Monday and lodged at the Deschutes County Jail on 10 second-degree charges of encouraging child sexual abuse.
