Community Conversations: Play Now Kids helps children reconnect through play

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) - A new local program called Play Now Kids is helping Central Oregon children ages 8 to 12 recover from pandemic setbacks through active play, teamwork, and confidence-building.

Founded by Lyle Laver and Kevin Sivertson, the twice-weekly sessions offer kids a chance to develop movement and social skills in a fun, non-formal setting.

“We can take kids out of the house, put them back into an outdoor environment, and even if it’s just for two sessions a week, it’s essential,” said Laver.

Each 90-minute session includes drills and games focused on agility, communication, and team play.
