Long-time lawn sign stolen from world’s last Blockbuster, in Bend; store manager hopes it gets returned
BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) -- A sign pointing customers in the right direction for over 20 years has been stolen from the front lawn of the world's last Blockbuster, NewsChannel 21 has learned.
The general manager of Bend's Blockbuster, Sandi Harding, told us they don't have a surveillance camera that could have caught the crime and hope word of mouth helps get the sign returned home.
"It’s a sad day today!" Harding said in a Facebook post. "Someone has helped themselves to our beloved Blockbuster sign from our yard. Sorry many great memories with this sign from the last 20 years I’ve been here. Sometimes people really suck!!"
It's not the first time this famous Blockbuster has been a theft victim. During the summer of 2023, the video return drop-box was stolen from the front entry of the store.
