BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) -- For registered voters in Deschutes County, your ballot for the May election will soon be in your mailbox. But what happens to your ballot once you cast your vote?

Deschutes County Clerk Steve Dennison gave KTVZ News a closer look at the vote-by-mail process, from how signatures are verified to how ballots are processed and counted. That includes what happens if a signature doesn't match, and the steps in place to ensure security and accuracy before votes are finalized.
