Lonza Bend announces winners of 32nd annual 2024 Inventerprise Contest

Lonza Bend

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) -- The winners of the 32nd annual Inventerprise contest have been announced!

Inventerprise is an annual problem-solving contest sponsored by Lonza Bend (formerly Bend Research), offered to all K-12 Central Oregon students.

Each year, the contest poses a question to spark students’ imaginations, challenging them to pursue inventive solutions to pressing problems. It is meant to foster critical thinking, research, and creativity.

This year’s prompt related to water conservation, and brought in 585 project submissions. Lonza volunteers spent an evening judging the entries, and selected the winners from each grade.

The middle and high school winning students receive prizes in value ranging from $25-$1,000. All of the winners are invited to the awards ceremony in February where they will get a chance to present their projects in person, participate in a variety of hands-on science demonstrations and indulge in liquid nitrogen ice cream!

Lonza also provides gift certificates for classroom supplies to teachers with high class participation in the contest.
