Nearby contractor cuts water line serving Bend’s High Desert Middle School; service expected to be restored Tuesday

A contractor doing construction activity nearby broke a water line serving High Desert Middle School in southeast Bend Monday afternoon. As a result, after-school activities were canceled.

Bend-La Pine Schools spokesman Scott Maben said they expect water service to be restored for the school on Tuesday.

"As a precaution, we may have the school under a 24-hour period of no consumption of tap water tomorrow (Tuesday)," Maben added. "We would provide bottled water for students and staff."
