LWV offers ballot info for those displaced by fires, other circumstances

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) -- If you have been displaced due to fires or other circumstances, here is the information you need to make sure you get a ballot and are able to vote in the Nov. 3 election, courtesy of the League of Women Voters. 

The easiest way to change your voter registration is to go to the Oregon Secretary of State website: https://sos.oregon.gov/voting/Pages/myvote.aspx?lang=en 

Click on “Go to MyVote Now” then follow the prompts. 

The following also applies to paper registration forms that can be found at your County Clerk’s office.

In addition, the League of Women Voters of Deschutes County will be at the Bend, Redmond and Sisters libraries every Saturday from 10 am to 2 pm until Oct. 10 with forms and assistance.

Your residential address is your old address, whether you have a home there or not. Your ballot will reflect the area that you lived in when the disaster occurred.  

The mailing address is where you want your ballot to be mailed – this can be a friend’s or business address.  It can be anywhere in the U.S. or a post office box. 

You may drop your ballot in any drop box in the State of Oregon. Your ballot will be delivered to the county of your permanent address.
