WASHINGTON (KTVZ) – Rep. Lori Chavez-DeRemer, R-Ore., endorsed former president Donald Trump’s election bid this week, in the wake of Nikki Haley’s withdrawal from the race that left Trump as the presumptive Republican nominee.

“Donald Trump clearly outlined how Joe Biden’s policies have been a disaster for our country, and that we desperately need a president who will secure the border, strengthen the economy and improve public safety,” Chavez-DeRemer said in the first of two posts to X (Twitter) on Wednesday.

“I will be supporting him for president, so the American people know their voices were heard and get the relief they deserve from Joe Biden’s failures,” she added in her second post.

Numerous opponents of Trump and supporters of Biden weighed in critically in the X thread begun by Chavez-DeRemer’s announcement.

Oregon’s other Republican congressman, Rep. Cliff Bentz, endorsed Trump in January, posting this on Twitter.
