Family welcomes leap year baby Melany at St. Charles Madras

MADRAS, Ore. (KTVZ) – A family welcomed a leap day baby Thursday at St. Charles Madras who won’t officially celebrate her first birthday for another four years.

St. Charles Health System said the Cuellar Perez family welcomed leap day baby Melany into the world.

“They told us they would like to say thank you to Dr. Snyder and the nurses in the Madras Family Birthing Center for everything!” the hospital group said in a Facebook post, adding, “Congratulations from all of us!”
