SALEM, Ore. (AP) — A Republican state lawmaker who authorities say let violent protesters into the Oregon Capitol in December says he is ill with COVID-19.

Rep. Mike Nearman said on a conservative radio talk show that he has a really bad case of COVID and is on the mend a little bit.

Nearman faces a hearing in Marion County Circuit Court on Tuesday on charges of official misconduct in the first degree and criminal trespass in the second degree for the Dec. 21 breach of the state Capitol by people protesting coronavirus restrictions. Nearman says he will seek a jury trial.

  1. He has a really bad case of false realities. I sure hope the GOP can move away from alternative facts. It will impress our country greatly. The problem is siding with Trump and Alternative facts gets votes in areas where dumb people listen to other dumb people. Real facts!

    1. Alternative facts like… “Russia-Russia-Russia”- The Steele Dossier- Stormy Daniels- Brett Kavanaugh- Covington High- the Wuhan Bat Virus is not from China- No need to wear a mask (Fauci)- Death BY Covid VRS Death RELATED to covid”… All of these were promoted as factual evidence that the US President and his party were pure evil… Now you all know better… so where’s yer outrage ?

    1. So the 33.5 million Amerikans who contracted the Wuhan Virus- all used poor judgement ? Oh My ! I think that when it comes to poor judgement- that conversation should start between your parents !
