Bend father and son, 11, make it to the top of Africa’s Mount Kilimanjaro

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) -- Philip Sangue of Bend and his 11-year-old son, Jayden, were feeling on top of the world recently when they climbed to the top of Mount Kilimanjaro.

Mount Kilimanjaro is a 19,341-foot-tall dormant volcano, located in the Kilimanjaro region of Tanzania. It is the highest mountain in Africa and the highest single free-standing mountain above sea level in the world. 

They embarked on their journey last month, and it took around six days.
