Redmond schools Battle of the Books competitions ready students for regionals

REDMOND, Ore. (KTVZ) -- The Redmond School District is hosting two friendly Oregon Battle of the Books events prior to the official OBOB regional competitions, which take place later this month. Individual schools hold internal battles to determine which team of students will attend the district and regional competitions. 

WHEN: Friendly Elementary OBOB will be held on Thursday, March 7, from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friendly Middle School OBOB will be held on Wednesday, March 13, from 8:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.

WHERE: Elton Gregory Middle School and Tom McCall Elementary School Annex, 1240 NW Upas Ave, Redmond, OR 97756. 

WHY: To provide a friendly and fun learning environment to help students feel prepared for the OBOB competition. 

WHO: This is the first year that all Redmond elementary schools are participating in either an official or somehow modified local OBOB tournament. Both Redmond Middle Schools are participating in the district and official regional tournaments. Teams from Jefferson County, Black Butte, Warm Springs, Crook County, and RPA Middle Schools will also be participating in the Redmond OBOB event on Wednesday, March 13,
