City of Redmond seeks volunteers to help conduct annual bicycle and pedestrian counts

KTVZ file

REDMOND, Ore. (KTVZ) -- In the continued effort to build a safe network to encourage biking and walking in Redmond, the City of Redmond Bicycle and the Redmond Pedestrian Advisory Committee is seeking volunteers to help conduct the annual bicycle and pedestrian counts.

This year’s counts will measure the progress of community marketing efforts and the impact of physical improvements to the bicycle and pedestrian network, as well as helping to build support for future improvements.

We need volunteers for two hour shifts to sit at designated locations and count users on Thursday, September 12, from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and/or Saturday, September 14, from 9:00-11:00 a.m.  A short online training is provided. Thank you for considering and please pass this along to anyone you know who may be interested.

It’s easy to volunteer. You can use one of two ways:

  • Go to the City of Redmond Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee website (www.redmondoregon.gov/BPAC) and reserve your favorite location and access important information.
  • Contact Sarah Vowell with the City of Redmond either by email: sarah.vowell@redmondoregon.gov or by calling 541-504-3044
