Mayor Ed Fitch presents Ainsley Schwarm with the winning certificate for her achievement

REDMOND, Ore. (KTVZ) -- Ainsley Schwarm, a fifth grader at Tom McCall Elementary, has won the 2026 Redmond "If I Were Mayor..." student poster contest, the City of Redmond announced via Facebook Wednesday.

Her winning poster, which includes proposals for more youth activities and parks in Redmond, will now advance to a statewide competition.

Mayor Ed Fitch presented Schwarm with the winning certificate for her achievement. Schwarm briefly shared her priorities with members of the Redmond City Council, highlighting her desire for increased recreational opportunities for young people and additional green spaces in the community.

Schwarm's success in the local contest means her poster will proceed to the Oregon Mayor's Association contest. There, it will compete against entries from students across Oregon.
