Bend’s Trinity Lutheran Church and School breaks ground on long-awaited worship, performing arts center

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) – Trinity Lutheran Church recently celebrated the groundbreaking of their new worship and performing arts center, “Boldly Building Our Legacy.” The project marks a significant milestone for the church and school that has been a part of the Bend community for nearly a century.
The project marks a milestone for the church, which has sought to add a worship facility since they moved to their new location nearly 20 years ago. The new building will provide much-needed space to support the over 600 students, featuring a worship and performing arts hall that will seat 500 people, as well as eight new classrooms and a science lab.
Executive Director Gregg Pinck said, "We've got a great performing arts program, and all of that's happened in the gym, but it's also set up and take down every time we do something in there. So now we'll have a permanent place for that."
The $18 million project is is expected to be completed by October of 2025.

Church officials said the new building will provide the much-needed space to support the growing and diverse community and programs that Trinity holds on its current campus.
Located just off Empire Avenue, the new center will feature a spacious worship and performing arts hall, additional classrooms and science labs. The facility is designed to accommodate a variety of activities, including Sunday services, musical theater, concerts, classrooms for the Upper School grades, and community events.
"We are thrilled to embark on this exciting project at Trinity," Wednesday's announcement stated. "This new center will not only provide a beautiful and functional space for our congregation and our school but also serve as a valuable asset to the entire community."
The project is being developed in partnership with Sunwest Builders and SAGE Architecture.
