Sisters-Camp Sherman, Cloverdale fire districts enact recreational burn ban

SISTERS, Ore. (KTVZ) -- Due to the extreme predicted fire weather and red flag warnings in Sisters Country over the next few days, the Sisters-Camp Sherman and Cloverdale Fire Districts announced Monday a ban on all recreational burning, effective immediately.

The ban includes all areas within the Sisters, Camp Sherman and Cloverdale fire districts.

Recreational fires include those used for pleasure, religious, ceremonial, cooking, warmth or similar purposes within the Sisters-Camp Sherman and Cloverdale fire districts. Not included in this burn ban are barbecues and propane fires.

Residents are strongly encouraged to contact their local fire protection agencies for additional burning information and regulations.

The Sisters-Camp Sherman and Cloverdale fire departments will continue to monitor weather and fuel moisture conditions in their district and may make modifications on a day-to-day basis.  Please call your local fire agency for more information.
