BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) The St. Charles Foundation is inviting the community to express gratitude and support health care workers during Give for Good Day on May 28. The 24-hour virtual event has already garnered more than $45,000 toward its $80,000 fundraising goal.

St. Charles Foundation is celebrating the positive impact of health care workers on the community through this initiative. Funds raised during Give for Good Day will directly support various key areas within the St. Charles Health System.

Jenny O'Bryan, executive director for St. Charles Foundation, stated that this year the organization is honoring the significant positive impact health care workers have on the community. O'Bryan is inviting Central Oregonians to share positive messages with caregivers and consider donating to support their work.

Redmond resident Emma Meyers shared a special note of thanks for the care team at St. Charles Redmond. She credits them with saving her son Arlo's life when he was 15-months-old after a tragic auto accident.

Meyers expressed deep gratitude for the medical professionals. "We truly believe that without the care, quick thinking and expertise of the doctors and nurses in the Redmond ED, Arlo would not be here today," Meyers said.

She further emphasized the profound impact of their actions. "There are no words that could fully express the gratitude we feel for the people who helped save our son's life that day. Their compassion, skill and determination changed the course of our family forever," Meyers added.

Community support has already begun to materialize, with more than a dozen individuals submitting stories of gratitude alongside the donor contributions. The campaign has currently reached over $45,000 of its $80,000 goal.

The money collected through Give for Good Day will benefit essential services at St. Charles Health System. These services include emergency services, rural health, women's and children's services, the Cancer Institute and cardiology.
