Trump cancels signing of bipartisan housing bill, leaving landmark package in limbo

WASHINGTON, D.C. (KTVZ) -- A major bipartisan housing package aimed at lowering costs and increasing supply across the country is now in limbo after President Trump canceled the planned signing of the “21st Century ROAD to Housing Act.”

The legislation included three bills led by Oregon Congresswoman Janelle Bynum—the Accelerating Home Building Act, the Appraisal Industry Improvement Act, and the Incentivizing Local Solutions to Homelessness Act—all designed to address the nation’s housing shortage and improve affordability for first-time buyers.

Bynum is sharply criticizing the decision, calling it a missed opportunity to deliver real relief for families struggling with high housing costs.

KTVZ’s Tracee Tuesday speaks exclusively with Congresswoman Bynum about her reaction and what happens next.
