BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) -- To honor Bend's members of our nation's Armed Forces on Veterans Day, Monday, Nov. 11, the Bend Heroes Foundation, Boy Scout Troop 25 and other volunteers will install about 275 flags at Bend Heroes Memorial in Brooks Park, on Veterans Memorial Bridge (Newport Avenue), in downtown Bend and along the Bend Veterans Day Parade route on Newport Avenue and Wall Street.

All of the flags were previously flown over our nation's Capitol and bear the names of veterans - including 65 WWII Veterans and veterans groups.

Those participating will meet at the Bend Heroes Memorial at 7:00 am to begin flag installations. Flags will be removed at 4:00 pm.
