OSP Fish & Wildlife Division seeks public’s help in finding whoever fatally shot a wolf from road in Grant County
PRAIRIE CITY, Ore. (KTVZ) – The Oregon State Police Fish & Wildlife Division said Monday it is seeking the public’s help in identifying the person(s) responsible for shooting and killing a wolf, likely from a roadway, in Grant County.
On Monday, the Oregon Department of Fish & Wildlife notified OSP’s Fish & Wildlife Division a mortality signal had been received from a collared wolf from the Logan Valley Pack.
OSP Fish & Wildlife troopers responded to the scene with ODFW personnel and found a deceased yearling male wolf, which died from an apparent gunshot wound. The deceased wolf was found on private property adjacent to County Road 62 near milepost 11, about 11 miles southeast of Prairie City.
The preliminary investigation indicated the wolf was likely shot from the roadway late Sunday evening or early Monday morning.

The Turn In Poachers (TIP) program is a collaboration between the Oregon State Police, Oregon Hunters Association, Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife, Oregon Wildlife Coalition, Oregon Outfitter and Guides Association, and the Oregon State Marine Board.
