BEAVER CREEK, Colo. (AP) -- Bend, Oregon ski racer Tommy Ford cruised through the fog and the falling snow Sunday to win his first career World Cup race.

Ford led after the first run of the giant slalom and didn't look the least bit nervous on his final pass to emerge victorious in Beaver Creek, Colorado.

He finished in a combined time of 2 minutes, 31.25 seconds.

Henrik Kristoffersen of Norway was second while fellow Norwegian Leif Kristian Nestvold-Haugen took third.
