Oregon beats Florida A&M 67-54 in Ducks’ first road game
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — Jesse Zarzuela had 14 points, Jadrian Tracey scored 13 and Oregon won its first road game of the season with a 67-54 victory over Florida A&M on Monday night.
Oregon (4-0) improved to 5-0 all-time against Florida A&M (0-4), including an 80-45 victory at home last season. The game is part of the Legacy Series between the Pac-12 and Southwestern Athletic conferences.
Jermaine Couisnard made all six of his first-half free throws and scored all 11 of his points to lead Oregon to a 28-27 lead at intermission. Freshman K’Jei Parker had nine points at the break to keep Florida A&M close.
Tracey hit a 3-pointer to give Oregon a two-possession lead less than two minutes into the second half. Kario Oquendo came off the bench and sandwiched two 3-pointers around a 3-pointer by Brennan Rigsby in a 9-0 run and the Ducks led 48-36 with 12:02 remaining. The Rattlers got no closer than eight from there.
Keeshawn Barthelemy had 10 points for Oregon and Oquendo scored nine. Tracey had six rebounds as the Ducks won the battle of the boards by one.
Keith Lamar and Parker led the Rattlers with 18 points apiece. Lamar had seven rebounds, while Parker added three assists.
The Ducks had one less turnover than the Rattlers and improved to 192-18 under Dana Altman when winning that battle.
